UltraCharge Limited (ASX: UTR)

As the world seeks more efficient energy solutions through the manufacture of battery powered products, including electric vehicles and mobile phones, the pressure is on to develop batteries that have longer life cycles, are safer than what is currently available and have faster charge rates and storage capacities.

To date many companies have failed to meet this objective.

However one ASX listed micro-cap is set to change things with a patented technology that improves lithium batteries and could potentially charge a smartphone to 70% in under six minutes and dramatically increase the capabilities of an EV with just 10-15 minutes of charging.

As this technology is free of carbon for Lithium storage, it could also eliminate explosions or fires, meaning your Galaxy Note 7 may not catch fire on a plane or in your pocket.

The company recently signed its first Memorandum of Understanding with Swiss battery storage supplier Leclanche SA, one of the world’s leading fully integrated battery storage providers.

Together with Lelanche, this company will collaborate on a pilot project to test and evaluate the charging technology to ultimately create a cost competitive, fast charging and high energy density battery for the EV market.

So with a technology that could improve safety, significantly improve battery life and create a super- fast charging environment, this $20 million capped company could have something that all battery manufacturers need.

And if that is the case, the new energy revolution could get another big boost.
